Understanding Collier’s Needs

Colliers employs over 50 employees at its Dublin City Centre base of operations, located at the very heart of the city.. This premium location presents a number of mobility challenges for employees, many of whom are required to be on the move. 60% of its staff drive, though less than 40% are allocated car park spaces. To make matters even more challenging, the company had acquired spaces over time, in no less than 5 different locations, within walking distance of the main office.

“Every day, those without a place to park would attempt to see if the assigned spots were actually in use. Those that couldn’t find a space would be forced to park on the street, wasting time, causing frustration, not to mention, creating a burden of cost on the company.” Nick Coveney, Commercial Director of Colliers Ireland, explained. “We were always talking about how we might fix the problem, but there wasn’t a clear solution until we discovered Wayleadr.”

“The Wayleadr solution represented a saving to us of at least €15K per year. Not only that, it encourages more of our team to plan effectively, and to use public transport more often, which is of course a greener and more effective solution.”

How Wayleadr Solved The Problem

Wayleadr provided Colliers with a complete solution.

With a relatively small team of 50 people, there wasn’t a clear owner of the parking problem, and it was left to individuals on a daily basis to attempt via phone calls, emails and luck, to solve the parking problem. It wasn’t until Nick, the commercial director, heard about Wayleadr that he thought this might be a solution for their team. From a commercial perspective, the parking problem created employee frustration, it wasted people’s time on a regular basis, and it created unnecessary and wasteful expense for the business. People who needed their car for work were forced to expense on-street parking, even when there were almost some certainly spaces available.

Coveney says: “One key difference is – it has made people who have been provided with a dedicated space, not take it for granted. They must pass on those spaces if they aren’t in use. We are now in a position to tell people that they must pass on their space, instead of letting to go to waste, which is inefficient and costly.”

“While before, I can guarantee that at least one or two spaces would be available during the day, because our system wasn’t efficient or transparent. Now, there is full occupancy of all spaces, every day. That means we as a company we’re not paying for someone to park on the street, and represents a saving to us of at least €15K per year. Not only that, it encourages more of our team to plan effectively, and to use public transport more often, which is of course a greener and more effective solution.

“The Wayleadr Solution is actually empowering us to reduce our dependence on expensive city centre car parking. We are now planning to reduce the number of costly spaces we rent for staff, simply because we can be more efficient with fewer spaces.”
